With the 4/3 rotor pack, the small rotor is now 24,000 RPM which is sustainable within reason and can survive a short burst over that.
Makes sense!

Based on limited results we’re seeing, the 3.0 is performing the same as the 2650 but at 10% lower RPM. So 22K-24K should really haul the mail. Wish Vengeance would let you bolt one on for a dyno session! Then we’d have the answer. I just don’t have the fuel or engine build yet to make a “serious” run like that. Although I never imagined the day 1059 WHP wasn’t serious!

I think we really need to see what they do ported. People who are looking to get into that low-mid 20k RPM max effort range are likely going to consider that as well. AMP has one they are doing soon that was ported by Jokerz before he stopped offering porting in the last week. We are spinning mine over 29k RPM now so the Whipple will likely need to gain more from porting as well to compete on all out setups.

Great info as always

This is all interesting because when I called Whipple they told me not to exceed 18,000 RPM. The different combination pulleys I bought for testing do not exceed that. Might have to change that.

I go for tuning next week which includes Kong porting and PI installed already. Should have some good results later on in the week I hope.

When the 2650 came out I believe our testing was at about 30,000 rpms. So, turning yours at 29,000 is close to peaked out I would think. I'm sure it's still efficient at that rpm and with your setup still cooling very well. Now if you can make that one killer pass to get you in the 7s your goal will have been met. I do want to see someone go down the track with the 3.0 with a good build like Josh has. Come on man get it to the track.

The car hasn't made a good pass at that RPM yet, unfortunately, but that's where it is when it makes high-1400 RWHP. I would agree that we really can't spin it any faster, but there's plenty of power there to hit the goal when everything else falls into place. The temps didn't change from 24k RPM to 29k RPM. It still goes down during the pass to under 100 degrees on an 85 degree day.

Update Time.

Got my car dyno tuned last week. With a 3.375 Upper and 8.855 we ended up at 944whp @ 6900rpm and 819wtq @ 5200rpm on E60 at ~17.5 pounds. By turning the Smoothboost down to around half, we were able to hit 750whp, a lot friendlier on the street.

The fuel system has plenty of room left to spin the blower more, currently at about 18,365 rpm. With the Reflex controlling the port injectors, the LT4 DI injectors were reading about 3.2 pulse width on the high end. This is in tandem with ID1050's.

I ran out of pulleys to try or else I would have tried spinning the blower harder to see where the limit was. Overall I am very pleased with the results and car runs great. Off to get some track numbers once the rainy weathers goes away.

Really great numbers.

Dropped the car off to the Tuner while I am at the beach this week, and Landon is starting to do some initial pulls with the Whipple. Just working some baselines now. Baseline before the Whipple install with just headers was 442rwhp/470 torque. First pull yesterday was 725 rwhp and 808 torque at 8psi. They have some different pulley combo they will use this week to see what the Whipple will do with my set up. Not going to exceed 15psi but will use E50ish in the car. Never going to track the car, just a fun 'street' car

Should be able to rock and roll at 15 psi. Good luck!

Sounds like more room to grow. Decent first pull results for sure, keep the results coming. Congrats.

Hopefully will have the second set of results soon. The shop was busy yesterday, so no time on the rollers, but I know they will get it done eventually. They know its not my daily driver, but they know its been a long journey for me with them. It started back last year with 200 miles on the car and a DSX E85 kit and header install, and it took off from there.
They know that Reliability is #1 for me, so they will probably turn it down some after they reach some peak numbers. I will post some more numbers once I get them.
