No kidding, I like the blower but I think that's the worst part is having to lower the cradle. I think Mike at TooHighPsi could build a shorter Billet lid for the 3.0.

I think Josh and NMolina did use the cradle spacers and installed with cowl on, but I did mine with the motor out and put it back in with the motor and Whipple at one shot without the cradle spacers. Either way it is a tight fit, and my measurements were close to NMolina with the playdough and micrometer.

I would be all in if Mike could make a billet lid, because we all know Whipple isn't... lol

He couldn't do it. The lid has the intercooler lines and it wouldn't be cost effective to build a lid that housed those fittings.

Another Update - Smoothboost, Kong Porting, Katech P.I & more.

Gents,

Figured it was time for another update, been a while. I have struggled to work on the car recently with a busy work schedule. But here we go...

Working with Levon at Smoothboost, I was able to successfully install and test the device. He sent me a new bracket yesterday and some small spacers to try. Using one spacer and the new bracket was a success. Pictures and video attached. I mounted the adjustable controller in my arm rest cubby. I also got some badass steering wheel buttons from Motion Raceworks. The green one is for scramble mode. This allows for full boost even if I have the controller set half way for example. The Red button is for Boost cut incase things get a little sideways. I am interested in seeing if I can use the TooHighPsi Reflex controller to control boost in either direction for safety or even to control launches at the strip.

I sent the blower to get ported by Kong. Attached are some before and after pictures. He opened the snout to fit a 120mm TB if i wanted in the future. For now I plan on sticking with my 103mm. The TB adapter plate that Whipple sent me works still with my 103 after the porting.

Katech Mike hooked me up with the P.I machine work. I am currently wrapping up the fuel system and wiring etc for the injectors. Ended up buying 1050cc injector dynamics units to add to my already installed LT4 injectors on the DI side. Thanks Mike with the work and helping out with the fuel fitting against the EVAP solenoid issue.

Still have to order pulleys for when I go get tuned. Going to aim for 16/18/20 PSI setups to do some testing when the time comes.

Also order Viking Coilovers for all four corners for this year. Kelly at Kelltrac was great to deal with. Spent almost an hour on the phone with me explaining the differences between going Coilover or shock and spring package. I opted for the Coilovers fully assembled. He even provides alignment specs to use with them as well as shock settings for rebound and compression to use as a baseline based on your goals, power & weight etc Highly recommend.

Also need to wrap up my Cordes Ice Tank Install as well. Just need to run the lines from the trunk to the blower now. Probably be the last thing I do before start up.

-Norm

Does anyone have experience installing the Cordes trunk ice tank or another forum post/video? Trying to see if I can run both lines down the driver side through the fenders and side skirt.

You can, take a look at the Synergy trunk tank and they show you how to run the lines like you want.

That said, I got the lines up to the front without having to do that. Tucked them along the pinch weld and used the existing OEM fiber panel retaining studs/nuts to add coated clamps. With the fiber panels back up you really cannot see the hoses.

Thanks for the info once again Josh.

FYI since I’m in a roll lol… the 3.0 has inlets and outlets on opposite sides of the blower. That pic I posted was from when I was running the 2.9 blower. I ended up rerouting my ice tank lines so that the supply went up the passenger side and the return back went along the drivers side. So not sure if maybe that’s a better way for you to go.
