My 4.10 Geared GT is over 100 MPH in 3rd gear with a 285/40/18 tire. I would barely redline 4th gear by the end of the track.

My 07 3.31 geared GT would just kick over 4th by the end of the track.

Your friend is either not driving the car properly, is not shifting at the highest/most efficient RPM and is short shifting each gear.

Hell, my 6 Speed Cobra with 3.55's would just hit 4th by the end of the 1/4 mile!

Here is something I pulled from another site that gives a logical breakdown.


max speed in 4th gear with 3.73's and 27.2" tires:
27.2" = 100.3mph @ 6100rpm
27.2" = 115.1mph @ 7000rpm
27.2" = 121.7mph @ 7400rpm

max speed in 4th gear with 3.73's and 27.7" tires:
27.7" = 102.1mph @ 6100rpm
27.7" = 117.2mph @ 7000rpm
27.7" = 123.9mph @ 7400rpm

max speed in 4th gear with 3.73's and 28.0" tires:
28.0" = 103.2mph @ 6100rpm
28.0" = 118.5mph @ 7000rpm
28.0" = 125.2mph @ 7400rpm

He is stock with hypertech tuner. Can you not drive? In the real world you should have done 12's.

He bounces off the limiter in 4th at about 10-20 feet before 1/4 mile marker, whether you agree or not I don't care. Just stating the facts, he ran 15 or so times that night so after 3 runs of bouncing off limiter in 4th and trapping 104-105, then he decided it was best to shift into 5th like he normally has. I don't care if you agree with the facts or what happened that night, you weren't there.

He has owned his car for 50,000 miles and has owned it almost 3 years. He saw some of the comments on here, made him laugh. He shifted into 5th doing the 12.7 @ 111 in Alabama too by the way.
