Convertible latch wont close

2013 ZL1 convertible - when i try to close the top on the convertible the latch that locks it in will not close all the way. Picture attached, any ideas ? Thanks !

my guess would be something either the handle/ handle hinge might be bent? or maybe a hinge or something has come loose /jammed inside is it hard or spongy if you try to force it to set in? ill take a look at mine tonight.

I was thinking that or the top was closed a few times with the latch in the open position. I did that myself.

I'd make sure the latches are grabbing the windshield frame properly and look for bent or broken things.

The handle was hitting this piece so I popped it out and the handle closed with no problem. I put it back in and it works fine, the piece must of moved somehow. I did not do that at first because it did not look out of place, thanks for all of your help !

Hi. I have the same problem with my 2015 camaro - any ideas how to fix?
If I need to disassemble the plastic part, how do I do it?

ucspider - On my car the plastic piece it was hitting I just popped it out and reinstalled and that fixed it..
