Has anyone been able to get over 30 MPG on the highway?

Just wondering what the best MPG people have gotten on the highway. I have tried to get over 30 but have not been able to break that yet.

This was a 200 mile trip ALL highway trying really really hard to see what I could get 27 mpg ..2SS M6 93 octane

I haven't reset the mileage in probably 2k miles and its settled into 22.9 I live in the country right near a highway I do about 90% open road and 10% red light filled town
its been winter and haven't driven it even close to hard ..I have seen even just a little hard driving and it plummits drastically ..and once summer is back it shall fall no doubt =)

No 5th gen V8 owner is going to break 30 mpg unless they're coasting downhill in an L99 with AFM activated. However, I'm sure the V6 guys can do it especially the 2LS with the higher rear gearing.

I have the LS with A6 and have got 32 average on the highway cruising around 70mph. The 2LS was the car with higher gears 2:92 I believe and was the Camaro that was put out so Chevy could claim 30+ mpg. The manual LS and both LT's had 3:23 I think so they usually get around 28 or so if I remember. Been awhile sorry.

I took a road trip from Minneapolis to NYC. Averaged 26.7 MPG there, 27.1 back. This was before any mods, and with an extra 200lbs of junk in the back.
Now I get about 22, because I like the sound of it too much.

I averaged 28 coming back from salt lake when I brought my car home to New Mexico. I’ve never been able to do that good again. I’m headed to Disney land with my wife and kids tomorrow, I’m gonna try and see how good it will do.

Before my cam I used to average 24mpg on road trips consistently. That included some "spirited" driving along the way too. I haven't road tripped the car since then though.

I can avg 24 at 70mph. anything more and it begins to drop, at 55mph say if you were in the state of Penn. where the entire state is 55mph on all interstates? you'd probably avg 26 if you went from west to east or vice versa all interstate...

New SS gets it. Maybe the ugly nose helps.

Has nothing to do with the nose and EVERYTHING to do with the 10spd tranny. You could put a cinderblock front end on it and it'll get 30 with a 10spd. The whole object is at traveling speed to keep RPMs to a minimum. If you're driving 70mph and RPMs are at 1k RPMS, you'll certainly get 30mpg...

I long for the "good ole days" when a man was a man and a good V8 only got 8 miles to the gallon!
