New member from Ohio with questions
I bought a '12 Camaro in October. At the time, it was just a car I liked well enough and could afford at a time I needed a car. I had always idolized the Mustang. I have since fallen absolutely in love with my Camaro. I just wish I knew more about it. I'm pretty sure it's an LT, but when I look up parts or repair information, I keep seeing references to all kinds of subcategories - 1LT, etc. How do I know what I actually have?
I found this forum when I was researching my air conditioning problem. I have the (apparently) infamous broken blend door problem. I was going to attempt the "cut out the side of the ductwork" fix, but now I'm going to install two ball valves on the heater hoses with an H shaped bypass fitting. I found this method on a thread here. Replacing the front and rear bumper covers will come further down the road. The previous owner did quite a number on the front, and the rear looks like it's got some bad Bondo work. I've watched the videos. As easy as it looks to change them out, why would you use Bondo? |

Speaking of questions, how do you get photos pasted in posts?

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Go to a dealership and have them decode your VIN for vehicle specific info. Or google it yourself.

One way to tell an LS from an LT is the seats.
LT has power seats, LS does not. 1LT has cloth seats, 2LT has leather. All LS have cloth seats; 1LS is a manual, 2LS is an auto. |

That's helpful. I have powered cloth seats. 3.6 auto (with the paddles.)

Looks like you found your answers. Sucks on the blend door though, but seems you have a plan.
Welcome!

Welcome to the Forum! Take your time as it's a learning adventure that can at times be costly! Sorry about your blend door issues, I have a 2014 and pray I don't run into that issues, if I do I will cut the box! Best of wishes. Larry
