Makes sense on the lifting part.

I have the 5000EXT and I place jack stands under the rear of the quickjack as an additional safety measure

I would put the jack stands elsewhere, if the Quick Jacks tips to the side, it will most likely take the jack stands with it.

When I first started using the QJ, I was putting four jack stands under the car. But I've had no concerns with the stability of the car on the QJ. It's rock solid. Maybe that has something to do with having the EXT model instead of SLX. I also think getting the placement right is critical. I ensure the rubber blocks are positioned fully and centered under the lift pads.

The jack stand placement in the pic I posted above is in the event the locking arm on the QJ should fail. That said, maybe I'll go back to four jack stands in the future for the added peace of mind.

My Camaro is new enough that I've not had occasion to lift it, but I'm going to need to eventually. I had assumed the pinch weld blocks would be the solution, but it sounds like maybe not. I'd have no qualms about trimming them to fit if they're too wide, though.
The blocks aren't really very wide, but I remember there is some part of the side skirts (at the back wheel) that 'swoop' real close to the pinch weld. I even bought their Pinch Weld Pucks but they wouldn't fit. My solution, like others here, was to put the ZL1 Lift Pads and then I used the 'flat' QJ pad. It does, however, leave quite a dent in the rubber.

I'm the least handy guy around but I'm really thinking of picking up a 2x6 and somehow sawing it down to size.

I'll try to get pics next time I have it in the air.

You def don't need to be handy! Buy a small 2x6 from the big box store and a Vaughan Bear Saw (https://www.amazon.com/Vaughan-569-1...dp/B00G0ORPTY/). Easy peasy. Or ask a neighbor to borrow their saw.

It seems they renamed the models from the ones being referenced in this thread...should we be considering either a 5000xlt or 7000tlx based on the chart currently shown on the QJ website?

You couldn't pay me to get under a car sitting on these things, I've seen em fail and it's frankly a plumb stupid design. You know the guys who use hydraulic jacks as if they were stands, don't be that guy. Use stands.

I made four of these and lift the car with High Reach Floor jacks using the pinch welds with pucks.

Two jacks, one on each side, to lift the front and one on the axle pumpkin.

These quick jacks block working access from the side. My most likely need is when dropping the transmission. I don’t know how you’d be able to do that.

This way also allows setting down on jack stands.

IIRC, I made mine one tier lower. Photos are from the show Iron Resurrection

OK, so now that we've heard from the anti-QJ crowd, can anybody who does use them assist with my question?

When I measured between the lift points on my 2013 ZL1, the distance was about 1 inch wider than the chart showed for the 5000LT so I went with the 5000EXT just to be safe.
