Insurance surprisingly really low on Camaro SS

Anybody else surprised that insurance on the Camaro's are really low? I pay $75 a month for mine, that's full coverage with TD insurance. I also have a 13 Honda Civic with the same insurance and I am paying $125 (both are under my name). Very drastic price difference between the two.

When I asked my insurance company why so, all they told me was that there are more accidents with Honda Civics as there are simply more on the road. Hence the higher insurance.

I'm not complaining however, I love that my 455hp RWD Camaro is cheaper to insure than a 140hp Civic. Makes for great conversation . Does not make much sense to me, but I'll take cheap insurance any day.

My 6 month premium went down $97 from my 15 Mustang GT perf pack, the Camaro is like $75/month IIRC

Mind putting some context on your price? How old are y'all? I'm 27 paying $155 a month.... Still cheaper than I thought it would be though.

I have a 2014 civic and pay $55 month full coverage. $85 full coverage on my 16 V6 Camaro.

$125 is damn high for a civic.....My age is 46, 1 accident and no tickets in last 3 years.

I am 19 years old with a clean driving record. I have four cars under my name (apparently having more cars means less risk for insurance companies). $155 is still high however, if I were you I would probably call around to see if I could get a better rate.

That's what I thought as well, but all other insurance companies around quoted me about the same. I live in Canada too, our insurance here is supposedly higher.

State Farm wanted $105 a month for just my Camaro. I switched to Geico, and my other 2 cars lowered so much, I raised my coverage AND added the Camaro for only $20 more a month total. If I kept everything the same I would have basically added the Camaro for the same price as just my other two cars at State Farm.

SF had no explaination, as no wrecks in over a decade, and my scores are all excellent.

I have had USAA for like over 15 years. It's always been crazy low thru my 3rd gen, 4th gen and now 6th gen. Though, my record is also clean and I dont have any claims.

My girl's ralliart is also on my plan and that's significantly higher. However, different customer-base in that kind of car, and different driver registered to it (she's much younger and female ....which right or wrong still dictates insurance rates). Though she's also got a clean record and no claims.

Please note that insurance is only like 25% dependent on the car and 75% of the driver and especially, where they live. Different states have different laws regarding how much insurers can charge. People in Texas or Georgia will pay considerably more than someone in North Carolina for example.
