You can also save even more money and buy a Ford Fiesta, but you didn't. Your comparing apples to oranges. The Escort Passport 9500 CI, besides all of its capabilities, is virtually undetectable by the eye when a thief is looking inside your car. It is totally integrated into the cars cockpit and does not look like some cheap looking garage door opener sitting on your dash.

When the guy in front of you is doing 10 under, that doesn't work so well. :(

The CI also has GPS and eliminates false signals allowing you not to lower sensitivity. When you look at all the features you come on top with the 9500 CI - so yes the redline can detect longer distance - but will give more false signals. Note that 9500 CI gives plenty of time to slow down and ultimately gives me far less false signals. I have a redline in my truck! I have a 9500 CI in my camaro.

$1700 for a radar detector? you all are freaking crazy man, You can get a Beltonics pro 100 that works almost just as good for $170 at Sears. (That's 1/10 the cost)

The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys! I never said it was the cheapest detector!
