Tracking with these consumables!
My front tires have some outer tire wear. Brakes are good and are at 60ish%... , but they got hot from laguna seca as you can see. What do you you guys think from the pictures attached. Send them onto the track with no worries?

Kinda hard to tell by the pics but from what I can see, full send and check after each session. Be sure to check the inside shoulders too. Some drivers report that wearing faster than the outside.

Always have a spare set of brake pads on hand along with a jack, jackstands, and tools so you can swap at the track if needed. Especially if it is a 2 day event, otherwise you risk wasting some of your entry fee.
The wear rate of brake pads per session tends increase as they get thinner when you are using them at track days so check their thickness more often when they are getting closer to running out of pad material. |
