Exhaust question
Have a ‘10 SS with LS-3. Have long tubes with hi flow cats and from there a Flowmaster Outlaw cat back. After 2 years of the drone I’m saying Uncle. The system I have is 3”. Looking to go with something tamer like Flow X etc. Called Flowmaster and no answer. They did return my email and recommended AT or flow X. But as far as could I bolt up a axle back Flow X they referred me to visit my local muffler shop . The Flow X is also 3” but not sure if it will match up as the axle back is most likely designed to mate up with stock midpipes. My Fm midpipes with the x pipe come past the axle more outward toward the tires where I think the stock exhaust is more centered to the axle . Any input is much appreciated. Thanks

J-Pipes is your answer. They will remove or at least greatly reduce any drone you have.

I had the FM Outlaw system in my car and I didn't make it 6 months before I had to make a change. The drone on the highway was just too much.
But I remedied the problem just by swapping out mufflers. I cut out the Outlaws and replaced them with Super 40's. That was the only change I made. The rest of the Outlaw system is still on place. It is slightly quieter now but I think it has a better tone now (not as raspy). And the drone has been eliminated. |

I've had the Solo J/Pipes for over 12 years on my '10 SS L99.
NO drone ever at any RPM. Never !

Thanks for the help folks. I had to read up on J pipes, wasn’t familiar with them. Seems like a good option along with the other suggestion of cutting out the outlaws and installing ia different muffler and do some welding.

Man wish I had known this a couple years back. I love my Borla system but I think I would have got J Pipes given the choice.

I’m a BIG fan of solo! I’ve had their Mach XL catback on my car for over 7 years and still love it today.
