Sure, I'm all for that. Let the commuter cars take the heavy lift of being electric or hybrid and keep the enthusiast car as it is.

There might even be some pretty cool electric tech that comes to muscle cars to make them even better.

I get that it is easy to just jump and say "Oh no, my v8s are dead", but maybe they'll just move to fun cars and let the everyday driver cars get gutted.

You know an enthusiasts car can be an EV right? Doesn't have to be combustion engine vehicles.

Granted I understand you do lose some aspects of what makes the experience a great one which is sound and rowing your own gears, but being a car enthusiast means liking all types of vehicles. Granted the rowing your own gears part was already on its way out like it or not before this EV push.

Just like there are boring hybrids( Prius), there are exciting hybrids( McLaren, etc).

This will drive used car prices even higher as people will want to hold onto them longer. They arent coming after the cars you own now (yet), this is just about new cars moving forward, all being electric. Say 2023 and beyond. Their purpose is to completely phase our gasoline powered vehicles.

I would miss the sound and the feel of a engine. Also I do most of the work myself and enjoy it and always have throughout my years. By making it all ev the hobby will die and over 100,000 mechanics will be out of work.

Not exactly a new concept EVs have been around before the internal combustion cars.
