$5-10k Over MSRP??

So I went to a dealership today where I purchased my C6 and they told me even when I order the new C7 I have to pay $5-10k over MSRP because It was a new body? I thought those were only for the display models, not ordering the car.

Can anyone give me their insight please? Thanks.

Yeah, c7’s are hot and some dealers will try as much as they can, always your option to walk.

Just find a new dealer or get with one of the bigger dealers that do a lot of remote sales. No, you don't *have* to pay over MSRP. The dealer just thinks he can talk someone out of it. There are plenty of dealers out there not trying to pull those shenanigans.

Yeah I read, I've visited 2 dealers already all asking for 5-10k over MSRP. Guess I'll have to keep searching...

...or wait.

Once the rush for the rich kids with more money than sense is over and
they've sated the 'gotta have it first' giddiness, then the prices will be like
most every other car - negotiable.

yeah thats always an option, but the dealers estimated an 8 month to 1 year wait lol. You think its worth it to wait that long? Might even be like half a year.

Well, after my experience with my '10 SS, I plan on waiting until MY15 or 16 any way, just to see what bugs, fixes and changes arise.

If you 'gotta have it now' then you'll have to play their game and pay their price.

I spoke with 6 dealers before I settled on mine. None tried to add a markup, but many wanted to charge msrp and make an extra 5k on my trade.

Just had a call from a dealer here in NC that has a C7 w/Z51 - red interior that he just received it and the guy who ordered it doesn't want it.

Dealer said that although it's MSRP plus $5000 he could let me have it for only $1000 over (plus tax, tag, and doc fee).

Told him I would rather wait and get the one I have on order (elsewhere) for MSRP rather that get a C7 different than what I have on order for only $1k more.

the dealership I got my z51 from has a 5k (A.D.M)mark up on it. After telling my salesman I wouldn't pay a penny over sticker he put me on the phone w his manager, I almost cursed him out..(rude). finally he said come down and when we were almost finished w the paper work, those SOB hid the 5k price in the sales contract that's when I told them to pi$$ off and they came and chased and said.."ok we are sorry. its almost unreal but if you don't want to have to wait till feb. you got to negotiate but well worth the hassle.... unfortunately, the longer these are on 'constraint, the more we are going to see these ADM fees.....
