That depends if I am wearing my Salesmen hat or not LOL

Exhaust note is a Personal preference and only you can decide what best fits your style.

Personally I Like the Factory exhaust with Long tube headers and high flow cats, to me it sounds just right.

Ted.

I have a complete JBA System which includes 1 3/4" long tube headers, hi flow cat mid pipe and 3" exhaust with H pipe from the cats back.

Sell everything back of the headers.

Find an LS3 stock catback, change the cats to high flows with 2 1/2 outlets that connect to a stock catback. Or possibly a Corsa catback.

Weight. That is the #1 functional reason to get a cat-back. The stock system is heavy and the Camaro needs any and all weight reduction possible.

I thought it was illegal to replace the cats unless you had over 100,000 miles on the car or it failed emissions. Or is that just a MD law?

You might want to look a little closer. Those aren't mandrel bends.

I'll agree that it's a good exhaust though. Although they are pressbent, the bends are fairly subtle and there are no extreme bends.

All this time most of the people I know of have been saying that Magnaflow and SLP X-pipes would increase HP and torque and now I find out that's not the case. I guess I just saved some money by not buying the SLP mid-pipe.

If anyone wants to know, If, How Much or How little Performance bolt ons work feel free to contact me or my staff and we will tell it like it is, then you can make informed decisions on your purchases.

Well that clears it up thank you for all your informative responses and that graph is awesome, thanks.

I double checked with JBA and yes their H-pipe is in the exact location of the factory H-pipe, if all goes well at the local dealership they will be installed tomorrow (full JBA exhaust system).

Oh yes... videos will be posted

X OR H take your pick
One things for sure a H sounds much better to me...

I too have messed with systems over the yrs, never really saw power gains from x,y,z

My present system in a magna resonated x and 2 magna mufflers..
Its quiet with a hint of drone.

Might go to a H and take out the X just for s and g

From my experience of building custom headers and exhaust systems for Drag cars and Street rod, Jannettyracing is pretty spot on.
H-pipes were first installed on exhaust to balance out the pressure and to take the snapping and popping out of the system when you released the throttle. The only advantages I have see to installing an x-pipe is when someone has installed an exhaust system that is too large for the engine size.

I would like to see dyno's of both h or x if you have them. I have been messing around with cars for a bit now and have family that is all about cars and rebuilding them etc. They strongly suggest the x-pipe. Even is its not much over or under the stock i would like to see those figures to prove or disprove one way or the other. Im looking to get the Pypes cat-back with x-pipe and from the images i have seen their x-pipe is in the same position as the h-pipe (could be a minor bit off but not much).
