Camaro Camaraderie

As I rookie Camaro owner (1 week tomorrow!), I just wanna say that I really appreciate the fact that we, as Camaro owners, seem to have an instant bond through our fine machines that cannot be found anywhere else.

Just yesterday, I had my first encounter with a fellow Camaro driving on the opposite side of the road. I saw it coming from a looong way away, so I rolled down my window, preparing to give him a thumbs-up as he passed by.
To my surprise, by the time I had my hand out the window, his was already out, flashing ME a thumbs up! I dunno why, but I couldn't wipe the smile off my face for a good 10 minutes after that.

All that to say, I'm just proud to own a car that is so iconic and unique that its owners feel a sense of brother(and sister)hood just because we drive the same thing. You don't see Mustang or Challenger drivers doing it!!

-Nathan

P.S. I'm willing to bet that Camaro owner is probably on this forum. Red (SS?) with black rally and bonnet stripes. Lone Hill and Gladstone. Anyone?

Nathan, Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's and wive's here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

I've driven by 6 Camaros here in Miami in 2 weeks. Yet to receive that. I stopped waving after I waved at the 4th one to no avail.

WHERE'S THE LOVE HERE in SO. FLA., HUH?!

I know the feeling I've just had mine a couple of days and I couldn't be happier. I don't know if this smile will ever go away.

It can be found elsewhere and is stronger too. Jeeps and motorcycles both have a wave that is much more wide spread than anything I've experienced in the Camaro. It also spans make (bikes only), model and year.

Today is my birthday. I went down to the closest Chevrolet dealership in my vacinity. I was told that I could not order a 2011 at this time. I was told bythe sales manager that 2011 ordering would be available today, I was then infomed that he was wrong. Bummed out, I went to speak with my insrance agent/loan officer to kill some time. He had a friend that had a friend at a dealership in a nearby town. I am now customer # 6829 with deal # 51199. Proud owner of a piece of paper stating that I ordered a metallic ice silver 2011 2SS RS. Funny thing, My loan officer sent me to the dealer, the dealer is best friends with my insurance agent, my insurance agent is my loan officer's boss. THE GODS HAVE SHINED ON ME TODAY!!!

I get waves from other 5th gen drivers, but the 3rd and 4th gen guys just give me dirty looks. Jealousy is a bitch.

Its very true !

I get alot of Camaro's and old Chevy muscle cars doing the same.

Its very COOL. I have talked to several 2010 Camaro owners also.

They ALL say the same, WOW WHAT AN AWESOME CAR

Really? That's interesting. I dunno, maybe I haven't been paying enough attention, but I've never seen two Jeep drivers or two bikers wave to each other, regardless of model, year, etc.

Could be just me....

I was driving side by side with another Camaro (red ss with black or grey stripes) for about 2-3 miles and he never even peeked over once..... Only other one i've seen since I've gotten mine (have had it for 2 weeks now).

I've seen this all over, even a guy driving an enduro gets a wave from a guy on a vrod.
