Paint Defender

Has anyone ever used the Paint Defender on their cars yet? If so how well does it work, I'm considering making a purchase but not sure if its a waste of time....

Yep, just did the whole front last weekend. It was a pain in the ass taping both grills, the fog lights and the mail slot. It turned out great actually wouldn't even know it was there if I didn't do it my self. Tonight I just did the back bottom fenders to cut down on road rash. Got nothing to lose if you don't like it peel it off life you would with plasti dip.

Stuff is garbage.

Removing it can turn out to be much more than a simple peel off too.

I just used it on my Spark and I am very pleased with the outcome. All I can say is those reviews on Amazon that were one or two star had to be flawed in their installation. I mean it is very specific about the temperature and humidity it can be applied at. If its too hot or too humid its not going to work correctly. Also you must not let it get wet for at least 48 hours.I have a feeling many of these were due to one or more of these conditions.

Helped a friend apply it before a roadtrip. Easy enough to do if you've ever painted anything before... it didn't prevent 100% of the damage on his drive though. Arrived (1100 miles later) with a few chips where things got thru the film.

Removal was a nightmare - didn't come away cleanly at all and took forever to chase down every last shred of the stuff.

Don't do it. Stuff goes on great. But doesn't last long and can be a bear to remove. I just spent 3 hours trying to remove the crap from my ford edge. I know people are thinking I applied it too thin.
Not the case, I applied it exactly as directed. It protected the paint but it is not worth it in my opinion. Go with a clear bra.
