Red brake calipers

I've read where some owners are have problems keeping their black Z51 wheels clean without treating them. My Z51 coupe was recently built and is on it's way... Black wheels with red calipers. Anyone having problems keeping the red or yellow calipers clean or are you treating them as we'll.

Black wheels SUCK!

Had them on my ZL1 and had to spend 45 minutes cleaning them at every car show I went to. The black shows dirt, dust, scratches... EVERYTHING.

NEVER again will I own black rims! Went with chrome on my C7.

Colored brake calipers, I would assume they'll get all dusty and dirty too. Kept mine stock for my C7.

I have the black rims on my Z51 and love them. Sure they show dirt but they look amazing on the car. I think the chrome one SUCK, but it is all a matter of opinion. My Z51 is not a daily driver, so every Friday when she gets a bath, the rims and (yellow) calipers take no time at all to clean....

I daily drive my black rims/yellow calipers and have no issue keeping them clean, I do wash her every weekend though. With the right brushes etc they're easy to clean, no more than a few minutes on each.

I ordered SONAX Wheel Cleaner from Autogeek based on Glen E's recommendation. Gave the wheels and calipers a spray, waited for about 5 mins and then just sprayed all the brake dust off. I was surprised at how well it cleans, especially the calipers.

Thanks for the candid feedback. Never thought I'd be ordering black wheels, but, they look so amazing on the C7... especially with Cyber Gray and the red brake calipers. IMHO. She'll be my daily drive and I just wanted know if the wheels and painted calipers needed any special care. I'll look into the SONAX Wheel Cleaner. Expecting to take delivery early next week.

Here are a few pics of my CGM with Black Wheels. Originally came with the painted Silver Wheels, but they looked too plain for my taste.
Had them Powder Coated Gloss Black for about the same price as the Factory charged.

I have the yellow calipers. Just use soft wheel brushes with my usual car wash solution. I have applied a sealant to them.

A boar's hair brush and Adam's Green Wheel Cleaner and you'll be fine. The brake pads on the Z51 will generate more brake dust than the non Z51 pads. If you have a Z51 you will have to clean the wheels more often regardless of the color of the wheels.

Thanks for info. I just ordered what you suggested. I been doing it by hand and struggling. I dive my car daily also, 10,500 miles already, and clean every weekend. Wheels are my biggest pain in the butt.
Thanks

Everything gets dirty. If you want to sacrifice looks so you can be lazy it's up to you.

Where did you get the red inner wheel bands? do they match the red calipers in color?
