Exhaust Filler with L.E.D s- Corvettemods.com

I ordered this after seeing it on Corvette7.com, and I am very pleased in the way that it looks. I'm not showing these pics for any reason other than letting you see it. If you don't like em, that's cool! If you do it was not hard to hook up- took about an hour. I personally called them because the video that they say you can watch, was not posted yet (due to SEMA) but they were very nice to me and even tried to get the video emailed to me. Is it kind of gimmicky - I guess so, but I'll say this on a cold night like last night, and the smoke from the exhaust and the red LEDS.......a friend behind me said it looked cool.......anyway....just here for your benefit- Thanks Corvette Mods

That looks awesomely cool all lit up! I also saw that on their site... nice mod.

Does it illuminate always or only when braking?

no thanks..breaks my rule for a mod: looks added on...

but it is neat looking...

however in looking on their site they make this plate without the lights that block the muffs and give you a cleaner looking car...I'll paint it flat black and add it to my mods...ordered .....thanks!

Can you tell me where you tap into for the power for those?
You say it took an hour. What did you have to disassemble to install?

I may be interested in these but want to know the level of difficulty.

thanks-

I got the non illuminated one today - the directions tell you to splice the lisc plate positive/neg feed for the lights...does not look too hard...

It says to tap the wires to the lic plate light, but what I did was run the wire under the carbon fiber bottom (take ot two screws and run the wire behind it) and then went to the side read marker light on passenger side- unpop that triangle deal - 5 snaps and then under the marker there are three bolts like 4 mm I think...un did those and found wire- very easy trust me....an hour is the most it will take you

good video...
except....
it discussed which wires you can use but didn't SHOW them. I don't have the car yet so I am unsure how easy it would be to identify the wires recommended for power.

Very nice - this is the brushed non-lit version - mounts in 15 min, no taking off the bumper, etc - no rattle - finishes what chevy started:
