I would appreciate anyone's experience in repairing a paint chip on my 2014 Crystal Red Tintcoat C7. There are 2 spots slightly smaller than
1/6" located on the passenger side rear fender at the top near the black grille. The paint pens seem inadequate. Chipex videos look pretty good,
but their examples show a flat surface to begin with. My chips have a slight raised edge where the original paint was bruised. My dealer's paint shop wants to remove and repaint the entire rear fender. Any thoughts, please?

I haven't used the Chipex, but I have used the pens....I would do ANYTHING but have him paint the whole fender....I'd rather have the chips even! I would try to but the paint and even use a small paint brush to dab and fill, and then dry and buff or wet sand- Try to make contact with Glen E on Corvette7 he has great ideas and I have made several of his projects like the Carbon Fiber Lic Plate frame, etc

I had a slight scuff on a Crystal Red Coupe and wanted the fender repainted but insurance said no. After 2 shops and 3 attempts to fix it, they finally repainted the fender and it looks great.

Try Dr. Colorchip - the system is easy to use, matches even difficult-to-match colors quite well. For the raised "bruising" around the edge, CAREFULLY use a sharp utilitly knife or razor blade (no handle) to trim it down flush with the surrounding good paint, or even slightly below. Take your time with this step and trim in tiny increments. After trimming, use 5the Dr. Colorchip. A couple friends have used this method on their C6 Corvettes with great results÷
