Exhaust Tips / Diffuser get REALLY Black/Burnt

i have a question,

i think i am running either really lean or really rich. i dont know which one is it or if its common.

my exhaust tips i could clean them and the diffuser and within 50 miles more or less. they are already getting black and nasty! i mean cmon, i polish them and right back to the sameee !@%
mods are

mrt 1 , vr, tune

is it suppose to run like that because of the tune?

I have to agree that its pretty common to have to clean the tips on these cars...i always clean mine.

But I must say, around the same time I installed the black Ice insulator, I also cleaned my tips inside and out with Adam's multi purpose cleaner solution.

I don't know which is helping more, but I haven't had half the same amount of soot as before....but I still touch em up quite often.

Would have to be the isolator.. There's no way a cleaner prevents buildup..

I wipe them off every day when I get home. I also switched to 91 octane so it runs leaner and there seems to be less build-up.

Why does it run leaner on 91 octane?

I've had blackened tips since day one. It's just the nature of the llt. Running it at wot doesn't help things much either.

That's true with most cars. But even when i baby mine it still does it. Whereas my fourth gen would stay spotless until I did a few wot runs.

Mine I have to clean weeky, Before and after the tune they would get really bad. Then I went back and reinstalled the tune, and well it hasn't been as bad.
I use Shell 93 also, but I had been using Murphy's fuels from the Sam's here in town.

Daily cleaning as well.. Personally, I cant stand black tips.. so I do my best to get them and maintain them clean.. it is not too hard if you do not let it build up
