Yeah, wish I could help you guys out. I did see that there are other situations popping up. GM customer care got on the issue immediately and advised me stand by for further contact from their internal sources. That was about 2 weeks ago. I've heard nothing since and I inquired again a week ago. Admittedly, I'm getting a little antsy and disappointed in the manufactures involvement. I even asked if i should just take the car in but the response was specific in holding off for further contact. I am in the fortunate position of being able to do just that but let me tell you how anxious I'd be if I was paying $1200 per month for a non-op new car and a rental on top of that. I want to see where they're going to go with it... Keeping the faith.

****EDIT: I changed the statement about GM Customer Care asking me to park the car. I went back and read the PM's and I told them I was parking it. They asked me to hold off on taking it to the dealer on my own. That was 2 weeks ago, not 3. Full disclosure. I don't want to mislead anybody or make it sound worse than it is. While I haven't heard from them after my last correspondence, I remain optimistic. I'm driving the car now. Bought a 64GB SD card and will just record all my driving to see if it happens again and perhaps I can be a better resource for the investigation into the matter.

Wow three weeks and nothing, that's unacceptable. I guess it's time to elevate matters just a little to see if we can get their attention. This issue deserves immediate attention people could be seriously hurt.

Everyone,
Any ideas and or suggestions on the best way to elevate this matter to ensure its getting the response it deserves from GM would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a 6th gen with this issue please join the thread and submit your issue to further support the cause.

Dude. Ho lee shnizzle! I never even thought to look at that Nurburgring ZL1 1LE crash video. Man, I am telling you what, that looks a lot like what went on with me in that the car is without doubt turning right when it should be turning left. Look at the lack of counter-steer. This is a professional driver and he (she?) never attempts to counter-steer the left rear slide??? At no point should that car be turned right. Car should be turning left for the turn. Car starts a rear, left skid. There should have at least been a turn into the skid (left). Tires are turning right until well after the point of loss. I believe that loss of control would have been corrected with a working car. I believe that fully. It was not a difficult slide.

Let the conspiracy theories begin!!!

lol

Nevermind...I watched it again. Just bad driving.

That's actually the first thing I thought of after reading your thread and then seeing that video a week or so later.

So I just had my steering on zl1 bind up and try to go straight during mid corner. Sounds like this might be similar issue. Any updates on cause or how to fix?

Link below shows the video of my experience. It was doing great until the 8 minute mark, then started pulling in opposite directions from steering at random places. It progressively got worse and ended my day at the track. At the end, you can see the car is steering at 65degrees to the right, then jerks to the left to 15 degrees, then back to 65. Not the experience you want to be in while pulling over 1.g in the corners.

Problem solved

I had this happen to me. I would be turning the wheel and it would try to straighten out it felt like. I took it in and they said there was a loose connection on the electric power steering connector.
