I've tried several of the options above and others. The best for me so far is Turtle Wax ICE synthetic spray wax. After a couple of applications it holds up much better with not oily residue or streaking when wet. Bugs come off easier too.

I clean all of the ground effects (and the plastic cowl) with Windex. Then I hit it with pig spit. By far the best black plastic treatment I've ever used. Keeps the oem look and leaves a nice clean and even finish that isn't greasy. I even spray the wheels. Just spray and leave it, no wiping. It's mostly popular with Harley owners, but works just as well for autos.

I like it because restores the color and protects without leaving an oily residue. I use the protectant on all the plastic parts both interior and exterior and on the leather seats excluding the alcantara. it's great stuff.
