So, this'll create an odd market, with Challenger, Charger, and Camaro bowing out in MY'24 (or CY'24???) are we going to see S650, launching in MY'23, just lumber on with no direct competition like early S197's? Just providing the bare minimum because of lack of comparison.
Or will the Dodge eMuscle and possible Chevy EV sportsedan "Camaro" replace their "old" ICE counterparts in a manner that the buyers of such vehicles won't really notice, and the market will just seemlessly transition... S650 is supposed to take a more transitory path. Maintaining use of ICE but trickling in hybrid options, then AWD options, then eventually full EV options. I wonder which method will work out better. A fast, rip off the band-aid, cold turkey, method vs the slow, less painful, but possibly less effective/efficient method.

Unlike Chevy and Ford, Dodge is in a really rare and unique spot. Under the Ford and Chevy nameplates they also have their truck divisions under their nameplate. Dodge does not Ram is its own brand. Dodge is basically the Charger and Challenger while also having the Durango. They need to remain profitable to remain around in Stellantis eyes and they have 10 years to do so.
The problem is a decent percentage of their customer base does not want EVs. This will not stop the EVs from coming but they have two options keep ICE and maintain all their customers or risk and lose customers. Dodge needs to maintain buyers they have done remarkably well for years now. If they make the right decision they will succeed if they don't they could end up like Pontiac. Ford will benefit if Dodge drops the ICE. Ford will scoop up those customers and they are probably salivating over the thought of it now all those ICE favored Camaro drivers and the possibility of Challenger drivers as well. |

Sad, even though both Challenger and Charger were seriously overrun. E-muscle will be a joke; Why even go there?

And it looks like the Hellcat will go away a year earlier based on this:

"and it needs to be done for the planet."
I swear if I hear this again, I am going to... well nothing but JTDC just knock it off hyperbole or fear mongering or whatever you want to call it.
