You'd think chip situation could produce feature poor versions of performance cars for enthusiasts (no screen, no blind spot monitoring... etc) to save on chips. Probably not enough time to do that.

It's all about volume.

Manufacturers can't get a large enough quantity of chips to fully build out the high volume vehicles, so NONE of them get the features and the chips are diverted to the low volume vehicles which aren't impacted.
