Baffled vs Non-Baffled Valve Covers for FI Application
Is a baffled valve cover necessary for a FI (twin turbo) motor?
I found a set of nice valve covers, but they are not baffled. Should I even be looking into them? Does anyone sell a kit to add baffles to a non baffled valve cover?

W/out baffels the rocker arms throw oil right into the evac port.....well known issue. We take aluminum sheet stock and tig it in as a baffel if there is clearance enough, but you will have issues w/out baffels.

Is there an (easy) way to add baffles to the valve covers?

Bump!
Here is the inside of my Holley valve covers. I am getting blow-by should I cover the one big hole and keep the 4 smaller ones?

That location on the Holley is what we see cause oil thrown issues. We tig in a baffel made of sheet aluminum. The goal is to deflect but still allow to vent.

I sealed the small holes and reduced the size of the bigger one...so far it seems to have helped. I still need a catch can though.

I've had good success tigging in sheet aluminum baffles on valve covers that come with-out. You can put the vent holes in between rockers to prevent as much "splash" as possible. I've seen a reduction of roughly 3/4 of the oil circulation after the addition of the baffles. Obviously it will depend on design, longer runner with more separation between vents and breather opening seems best, essentially a catch can inside the VC.
