By the way..... I have stock axles, stock transmission, stock bottom end.

This car is driven like it's stolen for the past 5 years. Never broke anything. Like a rock!

I’m at 801 rwhp and have about $60k in engine, trans, suspension, rear, etc… mods. My motor alone was $37k and I’m looking at another $35-40k to get me to over 1200 wheel.

There are a couple members on here that have seen my build sheets & invoices.
What engine did you spend 37k and only get 800. Steve morris sells a LS stage 3 engine for 37k, that is a full long block rated for 2300hp drag and drive events. If you spent 37k on a motor that can only hold 800 hp you got ripped off. Spending another 40k to get 1200 is crazy. You can easily get a 5th gen to 1200 with just 40k it might not be reliable but you can hit 1200.

Some places are definitely gouging build prices. Do your research guys. I have a car that's bulletproof, running 10s, for a total investment of 40K including the initial cost of the car.

The motor itself wasn’t $37k. I’ve also got a full suspension, rear, etc…. I was summarizing the total for the build which is far more encompassing than just the engine mods. 800 wheel that drive 2.5 hours to the track made 18 runs then drive home 2.5 hours with the a/c on. My point was you’re not getting a built AND reliable 700+ for $15k. The next $40k is a new built 6L80, more interior mods like a cage, a new 427 with all forged internals, etc…. Should get around 1550-1600 on E85 so I’m assuming we’ll see 1200+ wheel.

If you’ve spent 60k on a stock block and stock trans car you’ve done something wrong.

A great combination for 700rwhp is a LSA supercharger with a 2.5" pulley, a BTR stage 3 PDS cam, E85 conversion, and the fueling to support it (850cc injectors and a ZL1 fuel pump). This should put you right at 700rwhp. If you run 93 octane fuel, you'll be about 650rwhp. This will have reliability and power.
