I think it's because they already have new product slated for that plant.

With the parts shelves emptying and the possibility that 1 or more of the 38 parts and distribution centers furnish parts to Lansing, it looks like GM just said “screw it - let’s get the Camaro out if our hair ASAP.” I bailed on my 2024 2SS order over a month ago because the parts I wanted on the car were becoming more and more unavailable - to the extent that I lost interest in the car.

Lots of moving parts right now.

The GM bean counters have adjusted the planned Camaro exit.

Sure to be other adjustments across all the Big 3 due to the strike.

Thanks for the info GearheadSS.

How about a Sharkskin 2024 2SS without a sunroof? The inventory says 66 are “available” across the country.

Update: Get on the phone! The latest 2023 inventory shows 4 Shadow Gray 2SS without a sunroof.

Fortunately, these warehouses are only for dealers to order parts for service work, etc. It shouldn't affect production.

Man I feel bad for everyone that tried to order one and didn’t get one. I celebrated more the day I got my allocation than the day I actually picked up my car because I truly felt lucky the day the dealer called me and told me they received a 2ss allocation and being able to add A1Y (1le package). After reading a bunch on these forums I learned that specific allocation was hard to come by. I happened to find a dealer 20 mins away where I was first in line for a 2ss as fortunately for me they had a long line for 1ss’s and LT1’s. I had decided late in the model year that I wanted a new 2023 and I was only going to order one if it was a 23 because shadow gray was getting dropped. I feel very fortunate to have been able to snag my car (first ever brand new car for me as well) and hope that everyone else who wants one is able to get one before there are none left.

Which is exactly why my local dealer bought multiple truckloads of service and collision parts a couple of months ago.

The way this is being handled by corporate and the dealerships will be at the forefront of my mind the next time I decide to purchase a vehicle.

I ordered mine around July 15th and it was built on Sept 12th. I also heard from a not to reliable source they are not planning a strike at the Lansing plant so as long as the parts hold out they will keep building. But i also heard they will not build past the original date because the plant is scheduled for retrofitting.

It's absoutely unbelievable how these inventory Managers think these cars need sunroofs. My dealer here ordered a ZL1 CE with sunroof. Talk about ruining the lines etc.

We knew this was coming at some point... seems like they are right on schedule to finish the last builds in January.

Mine sits at 3000 with Oct 23 TPW right now to pretty happy about that.

Well this is quite sad news for those of us waiting to be accepted. I guess now the question will be to buy used and probably over pay OR buy something completely different? Might find myself in a bmw or Audi instead. Refuse to buy a mustang or challenger

Hey, I need a little help with GM language. At other companies I’ve dealt with, the “Build-Out Date” is the actual last day of production. If that’s not true for GM (sorry, gm) what does the company mean when it says the Camaro Build-Out Dates are the Convertible on 11/22/2023 and the Coupe on 12/7/2023? Those dates are a long way from January…
