Hello from Austria
Hi,
I am a car enthusiast from Tyrol in Austria / Europe. I bought the 6th gen camaro in 2016 and I am still the only one in Austria. That mainly has two reasons: Costs and costs: - in Austria we have a tax on a tax called NOVA. For the SS you need to pay 40% of its main price extra to the goverment. This made the car 83 000€. - the Camaro - along with the Corvette - is the most expansive car here regarding yearly costs. Without insurance one has to pay almost 6000€ yearly taxes. Still, driving this car makes forget everything. At least there is one thing that Austrians can do: building perfect roads. Next to the Camaro I have an Alfa Stelvio for winter. I often switch cars with my brother, he owns an Alfa Romeo Giulia QV and an Alfa 4C. Best thing is: The Camaro is almost unknown here, it is an exot I never saw until I rent one on holidays in the US. From that moment on I knew that I need that car. |

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Servus,
Where in Tyrol are you located? I´m from Southtyrol and I´m about to get my Camaro in 3-4 weeks. Its expensive put regarding taxes we pay alot more in Italy. Thats why I bought it in Germany and will register it there. |

Servus, that's great to hear, where have you bought it in Germany? You are lucky to be able to register it there. I now live near Kufstein. I often drive my Camaro to Italy and from the reaction of the people I guess there are not many Camaros eighter. Driving it through the Dolomites is really a fantastic experience. Where are you located.?

Thats true. We don´t have many. I know a guy who has a rental and has two of them but other than that I never saw another 6th gen around here. IMO its cool that they are rare so its really special to own one and get all of the attention. Thats awesome. The Dolomites are my terrain. I live near Bruneck and all the awesome mountain passes and roads are really close to my hometown. Maybe we meet on the road next time you are in the Dolomites. |
