Your 5th Gen camaro is Gold !

Hey Guys. I know this topic has numerous discussions, but I just want to say my peace from an unbias standpoint. First off I love ALL camaros, the SS is my favorite muscle car personally. I went to the dealer last week and wanted to test drive a 19 camaro 2ss after seeing some youtube reviews. That thing is like a rocket ship literally, I mean instant beastly power. After sitting in it a while I must say I didn't really feel like I was in a Muscle car. It felt smaller then my 5th gen and felt like i was in a new generation sports car to say the least. I understand the new camaros have all the new tech and gadgets which is cool but I actually really like the 5th gen interior because its doesn't need to have all of that fancy stuff, just a big V8 engine and a decent radio setup. Secondly was the looks, I compared the two side by side and I must say the 5th gen is the best looking camaro hands down, the retro muscle car look that it gives is just like no other. People also complain the 5th gen is to boxy but thats what i actually love about the car it feels like you in BIG BOY muscle car. The 19 is an amazing car performance wise but i would rather mod a 5 gen anyday. This is just my 2cents, I don't think I will ever get a newer camaro unless they come back out with a design similar to the retro design.

I completely agree with you; the last time I had mine in for servicing, I too compared mine side by side with a 6th Gen and like the looks of the 5th Gen over it. A couple who were looking at cars commented on how much meaner and better looking mine was over the 6th Gen, but it (the 6th) looked a lot more sportier.

IMO Chevy took the Camaro's look took far towards a 'sports' car look, versus keeping the muscle/pony car looks. If that's the look you are like and are going for, then great. However, personally, if I wanted another 'sports' car and was going to spend that kind of money, I'd get another Corvette.

That is the truth brother. It is unbelievable how many compliments and thumbs up I still get from this car alone. I agree to, if I wanted to spend that money for a new sports car the vett would be my choice before the new camaros.

Honestly I think it’s not only the Camaro but also the Corvette and the Mustang. For some reason the designers went off the deep in on all three cars. The Corvette looks like something made in Japan and I still can’t figure out why the heck the Mustang is trying to be. Dodge got it right with both the Challenger and the Charger and the 5th gen is right on point.

You nailed that dodge part statement. A challenger still looks like a challenger and so does the charger !

And they’re also still built on an old Mercedes E class chassis. Very outdated car that dodge is too broke to properly refresh.

Here in So West Florida the roads are full of Camaros, Mustangs, Corvettes and exotics
of every description. I'm thrilled but also amazed that my now 10 year old SS still gets
looks and compliments when I take it out. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Taken last year in Ct before my move to Florida.

Even though I own neither of them, I agree that the 5th gen looks better! It’s more of a muscle car than the 6th gen. But IMHO, my 4th gen SS is more of a muscle car than the 5th gen. I have no traction control, no real driver assists and a live rear axle that gets the power from my V8.

If they could recreate the essence of the 2nd gen as well as the 5th does the 1st gens I bet they couldn't build 'em fast enough to meet demand.
