Apparently GM quietly released either an accessory or a special edition fog light bezel with an LED signature

Of course I just replaced the chrome bezels on my midnight with black ones from the Redline edition

After a bit of quick reading it looks like they don't come on during the day with the DRLs automatically though. Instead, they come on with the parking lights or in the evening when the full lights come on. That's a bit of a bummer.

The Theta-II crossovers were indeed rumored to be MCE'd for the 2014MY but it doesn't appear like that's going to happen. It might have been pushed back to 2015, or GM might have decided to cancel the project as a whole as the Equinox/Terrain are scheduled to move to the D2XX platform in the near future.
