my friend got ref'd a few years back in the bay area in a built turbo Honda. He said he waited like 20 days for the ticket to post and the site generated a "cop out fee" for not having to go in. It was like 500 bucks something to that degree.

Does anyone know if a state ref looks at the pcm to see if there is a tune? Or can i just put on my stock stuff and pass without putting the pcm back to stock?

Ref may not check for tune per se but, iirc, ref will plug into OBD port to scan for emissions monitor status by way of Red, Yellow, Green LED indicator lights

TBH, you knew this was coming. Not having a front plate is obviously going to immediately draw the attention of a cop. From that point, all he's doing is writing down the things you knew broke the law when you did them.

Bring your car in line with the law, ignore it and wait for this to happen again but worse for being a repeat offender, or move to a free state lol.

they can check for tunes that I was told by tuners. But check for readiness codes, yes, just like during a smog check.

None of our vehicles have front plates on them. Even my Camaro never has a front plate on it, but I also drove it very calm like when it was LT’s with true duals. Just put your factory stuff back on and do a supercharger.

When I was younger, everyone wanted their car to be loud and I followed suit. Now, I plan to build a 396LQ that will sound almost stock and won’t ever get flagged for. Mainly cause I realized if I want the HP, I need to build the engine smarter and sneakier lol

Even driving like a grandma you are running LTs w/ straight pipes ... brought it on yourself.

Front plate is bullshit though
