Mufflers do not matter and are not required. I have passed with 0 mufflers several times, they are not an emissions part and are unrelated to the test being performed. It is not just about the codes, the sniffer has to test clean, evap system must work on certain vehicles, and the vehicle must pass visually as well. The cold air intakes as well as any aftermarket part that can affect emissions must have a CARB EO# or they are not legal for use in California and will fail a smog test. You can see the CARB legal stuff further up in the stickied section.

OP technically speaking, long tube headers are not legal for road use in any state here in the USA. They move the cats from their OEM position and this is an automatic failure.

Hey J,
I have some stock headers that I just pulled out of my 2010. You could borrow them I suppose if you want. PM if you do. I'm in Fullerton

Cant run LT's in california. Will not pass the visual inspection. You have stay with the stock cats or you gotta pay to play!.....In california, you just gotta pay a little more to run a mean cam, longtubes, and no cats
You should go to local car meets and find out how you can accomplish this by talking to other car enthusiasts that have done so
