Zl1 1le shock replacement options
couple of us zl1 guys are looking for a cheap solution for shocks. The factory zl1 1le stuff is too damned stiff for most tracks and are unreliable as hell. I say cheap as none of us are competing big time in these cars, they are sort of ‘seat time’ specials. Let me know any thoughts. Any ideas?

I love my 1LE suspension! Feels like a street legal race car! Never had one issue!

Stiff for some I can understand. I haven’t read about them failing though. Maybe hit autozone. Seems you bought the wrong car. |

Mine might have failed, might be the “boing” noise I was getting when hitting some bumps while turning

Trade it in for a ZL1... ...I do over 15 track weekends a year in a 1LE at tracks all across the midwest and northeast - never found a track for which the suspension is too stiff - as a matter of fact not sure how I could improve it. It is a bit on the stiff side for a DD especially in the spring before the roads are fixed, but no issues on the track.

Haven't heard about The issue you speak of. If I had the extra $ and the storage space, a ZL1 1LE would be on my BUY list.

Ouch !!!
I will say this after two test drives in some ZL1 1LE,s and ZL1, I found a ZL1 with all the OEM 1LE parts installed( except shocks). the magnetic suspension is beautiful. Maybe look at changing your shocks to magnetic, one time fix, and smoother ride !👍 |
