Concealed Carry
Hey guys, I'll be 21 in a couple months and I'm going to be getting a CCW. Wondering about options on where and how to holster the gun with easy access from the driver seat, obviously. Also, this would *not* be the one carried on my person, it would be an entirely separate one strictly for my car. I know some of y'all have car guns, so how do you do it?
I had seen holsters situated under the steering wheel/dashboard, leaning towards that. Also seen people squeeze it between the seat and console, but frankly I don't want a passenger to even know about it. Recommendations? |

Might try the Firearm section.......I did not even know we had a Firearm section until recently when a thread was moved.

Why would this be locked? It's a question... regarding Camaros, specifically...
I know there's a firearms thread, but that's not what I'm asking. |

Oh. I guess I should've searched then. Well if it gets moved, it gets moved then.
My question as to it being locked was directed towards the other guy trying to be cheeky saying "in before the lock." |

I use my carry gun for the car aswell...when im in the car it goes in the center armrest/console...i dont trust leaving a fire arm in the car when im not in it...have had previous cars broken into and dont want to risk a firearm being stolen...
When thinking of placement, test it out...i couldnt do it under the steering wheel cause it was too much trouble pulling it up quick enough to use if needed...steering wheel was in the way for me... |

I recommend the "Fast Draw Quick Draw Gun Magnet". You basically screw this powerful plastic-coated magnet somewhere and your gun sticks to it upside down, sideways, however you want. It can hide a gun completely out of sight in the most unsuspected location. Assuming you have a gun already on you, your car gun can be up under a seat or under the dash. You sound cautious about the placement as well you should be. Good luck.

My XDM40 fits perfectly in the holster in came with and sits in the small gap under the steering wheel.

With that said, it shifts during hard cornering or acceleration so keep that in mind. I have been searing for a fixed position for it and haven't found the right spot. |

Just remember it has to be "concealed" as in not visible from any outside angle. If someone standing by your driver's window can see it, it's not concealed. I would suggest under the front edge of the driver's seat, although I haven't investigated that fully yet. My M&P40C fits easily in the center console if it's empty enough. Otherwise, the glove box will fit a full size easily. Generally if I'm carrying in the car it's just behind my right hip. If it get's uncomfortable, it goes in the console or glove box.

OP There is a spot right next to the front seat. When you are driving your right leg covers it up.
