The day I tried vaping was the last day I smoked. I had smoked 1.5 packs a day for 35 years.

I have been cigarette free for almost 20 months. My ability to taste and smell is vastly improved, I ride a bicycle again (although I use 'assist' just because it's more fun), take the stairs, can breathe again, etc.

The thing is, I didn't even want to quit smoking. I would have kept smoking until my (early) death.

YMMV

Congrats!! That is awesome to hear. I think a lot of people, especially the ones that don't smoke truly don't understand the switch.

Hopefully you are working your way down on your nicotine levels.

Actually, nicotine isn't really all that bad.... In fact, there are some benefits to it's 'safe' consumption. Google "smoker's paradox" for some information. Getting rid of all the other stuff in burning tobacco, and the additives put there by cigarette companies goes a long way....

There was a very interesting article in Discover magazine earlier this year:

http://discovermagazine.com/2014/march/13-nicotine-fix

It's probably not much worse for people than caffeine, although being addicted (or dependent) on anything is not optimal.

As far as vaping safety, the "drexel report" is interesting reading:

I would be happy to comment further if anyone is interested.
