Random idle trouble on 96 SS

Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar. I bought a 96 SS with 47k miles on it two days ago, and all was well. Tonight I started it up and I didn't get the loud exhaust note when it cranked, instead it just went to 500 rpms and held there for a bit. I thought it was odd but decided to pull out and take it for a ride, as I pulled out the car died. The problem would come and go for the next hour or so, until I pulled back into my parking garage. Once I parked it I turned it off and went upstairs for 30 minutes or so, after waiting a bit I came back down started her up and it was like nothing ever happened. The oil was just changed, and it looked and smelled fine. Pressure did seem low when it was having trouble idling, but I think that may have been more of a symptom than a cause. Battery was fully charged, but it did act a lot like my 94 did when the computer was trying to relearn after replacing the battery. Any info from similar experiences would be appreciated.

When I've had something like that happen, it was either the plugs or bad gas.

Been running Shell 93 octane so don't think it's gas, I'll check the plugs though.

Let us know what you find out, I have a 2008 Cobalt that every now and then when I start it it misfires on #2 cylinder. I let it run that way for a minute or 2, shut it off and restart it and all of a sudden the problem is gone.
Only has 12k on it.

I just messed with a car with a crappy idle, and it was the fuel filter. It would idle fine, then idle like it was about to die. The gas in the filter was like Dr. Pepper or something. It has double the miles of what you have and they used cheapo gas. Odds are that's not your problem but you never know.
