2015 c7 z51 mods
I'm new to the forum and look forward to getting some good advise from other members.
I have a 2015 c7 z51 manual. Some of the mods so far are: Front z06 grill Flat bottom z06 steering wheel Hallteck carbon cai AR mid length 13/4 headers 2.5 mm high conductive wires Speigler s/s brake lines Baille light weight battery Sound mat insulation in the back And I am looking at Burns 17 inch stage 2 mufflers with the scrubble and with Corsa polygon black tips. This last mod I am struggling with because the Corsa exhaust seems to be the way to go. The car will not be raced, street only, but I like the weight savings with the Burns mufflers. Does anyone have experience with these? |

What did you use for sound insulation? Was it helpful?

2 changes made a serious improvement in cabin quietness. I estimate they made a 50% reduction of road noise.
I added sound insulation to rear floor area and bulkhead behind the seats, fair reduction of road noise. See thread: Help: Procedure for removing floor carpet in coupe rear hatch area? http://www.stingrayforums.com/forum/...atch-area.html I made a partition / cargo shelf and noticed a further reduction in road noise and improvement in sound of the stereo. I think the partition blocks noise from the cargo area and directs rear speaker sound forward. Quite frankly I was surprised it made any difference as I wasn't expecting any noise reduction from this.
