Working on that...

OK.. so Lifts are still a ways off but this is what I'm thinking about.

Should work nicely in the attached Garage... I've got 10'6" ceiling clearance...

Atlas

Mohawk

http://www.mohawklifts.com/wp/consum...ifts/usl-6000/

The atlas is less expensive and is supposed to be bolted to the floor. If I get the atlas, I'll probably flush it into the concrete.

The Mohawk is almost 3 times as much (Just under 6k) but is mobile....

I guess it is a personal choice, but when comparing just by the pics the Mohawk looks about 10 times more sturdy. The Mowhawk also looks like the back stays stationary while the front rides on casters when lifting. If that be the case I would set some flat steel under the casters to let them ride on to save your floor. Or you could always recess it and still move it around if need be.

I'm thinking the price will be about the same once you figure in the concrete work required on the atlas....

I like th portability of the mohawk... And their reputation is pretty good.

After talking with a few shops... I think I'm just gonna go with a four post on casters.. That gives me the most flexibility to do what I want.

Damn. I like that a LOT.

Can lift it by the wheels OR/AND by the frame.

yup. thats what I was wondering.

here's the other style of 4 post that I've been looking into. customize for vehicles of different lengths

only downside to 4 post lifts is that you almost have to have the extra cross frame lift if you want to take the wheels off the car.
