Well yeah, but paranoia for a different reason.
I've had to have two tires replaced in the past 6 weeks due to nail punctures. I now take a different route to work ( shorter but heavier traffic ) and I always drive with the tire pressures displayed on the main instrument panel. Driving-wise, I "sleep with one eye open" tire wise. |

I'm not all that worried about the Camaro. If something happens, insurance will make me whole. Also, I have an excuse to get a different car. I'm more concerned about the Miata. Yes, it's a shitbox, but if something happens to it, I'm out the car and won't get anything back for it.

I don't have very big paranoia about it but at times I do worry about it but my Camaro is garaged. I have really good insurance with USAA and I have the car replacement perk thing where I get an additional 20% on top of the value of the car if its stolen, totaled etc. That being said I do really care about my Camaro that I haven't done with my vehicles of the past and having to find another Camaro LT1 or 1SS with the options I want would be a big pita now.

I don't even like driving my Camaro during the day anymore, there is just too much BS to deal with - idiots, traffic, ricers that always want to race, cops at every corner, and the hundreds of construction vehicles that drop crap all the damn time. I worry about my viper too and rarely ever drive it because parts for that aren't even available anymore. I typically just take my cars out early in the morning or later in the evening when the nonsense dies down.

On a related issue, we have the engineering to put spacecraft on Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars, but can't figure a way to keep thieves from driving our cars away?!
How about, the ECU will not function unless the owner's key is in the car, or unless you unlock it like you do your cell?

I am very paranoid. I’ve decided not to drive it at all for at least a couple years. But I have a picture of my car I take with me at all times.

I'm not worried at all. In fact, if something were to happen to it today, I'd be getting a higher compensation from insurance due to the market. I can wait a few years if I need to, in order to buy something else, even if another Camaro. Also, mine is a manual, it ain't getting stolen. |
