to sell or not to sell...

Man, I am so tempted to sell my Camaro! According to the KBB and what vehicles are listed for, I can sell my Camaro for 12-15 thousand more than I paid 5 months ago! put it in the bank and buy a new one in a year or two when things get back to normal! Plus, my wife's BMW X7 is being delivered next week!

2020 Camaro 2SS convertible - AWE exhaust, wrapped hood, 13,500 miles - $47-50k (trade in vs private party values)

If you can wait that long then yeah go for it, you will never get more for it than now. Im in a similar position as are many of us, but I don't think I can wait that long for a new toy, I would hate to only have my econobox daily as my only means of getting around for what I consider such a long period of time.

Ten bucks says you spend the money on something and never get another Camaro.

I mean, it might not be that exact money but I WILL have another Camaro (unless I get a different sports car... Corvette or Porsche.) This is my second (had a 98 Z28 before this)

My wife isnt sure she is going to let me sell though - haha

and yes, I am sure I will spend the money. thats what its for

I love love my Camaro but if I can make 12k-15k cash in my bank account selling it, it would be gone. Anytime you can make that much money on a depreciating asset it would be crazy not to pull the trigger to sell.

Very true, unless you’re in it for the long haul.

I’ve heard so many stories from people describing their old cars. Most of them contain something like “man I should never have sold that car”. Food for thought.

I agree with this. Different situation if it were your only vehicle but it sounds like you have plenty and don't mind waiting for a new one. No brainer to sell it

I can 10000% guarantee I will be the old guy saying I wish I didn't sell ____. but regardless, my personality CANNOT keep anything long term. So I am just resigned to the fact that I will do the "I wish I didn't" and continue to make the decisions that will cause that future regret

Yep, I loved my stang. But, for 30% more $ than I was asking for 2 years ago, it was time to let go.

I’m not selling. I could make a SOLID pile off my car but what am I going to do with it, pay off bills? Get ahead on the house? Who cares. There will always be a bill to pay. After I pay off these bills there will be a another that pops up, they always do. So nothing will really change, and I won’t have my dream car anymore. My wife and I have made wonderful memories together on car trips, CamaroFest, LS Fest, etc. What’s that worth?

Also, my old man has always been into cars, he’s in his 70’s now. Met my mother street racing his new at the time 70’ Nova with a 4 speed. Regrets selling that car to this day.
