How much money would I save by going V6
So right now I have a 11 stock SS . Get about 16 MPG average right now . Looking to cut cost on my monthly budget and actually hit me to go with a V6 camaro but wasn’t sure how much it would actually save me a month . I feel up about once a week maybe more and it’s about 48-50 each time premium fuel . Would estimate I pay around 250 a month and could see me going V6 if I could get it down closer to 150 a month in fuel . Just curious of other experience as far as savings go

If you don't care about power or speed I guess selling yours and buying a 6 might save you a few pennies. Why not just get a honda accord V6 or something that is a little fun, but very fuel efficient?

I looked at the Accord . I like how it looks but just thought the fuel economy and power would be pretty similar to the Camaro . Well maybe little more fun to drive but little worse mpg

What is the average mileage on a v6 Camaro? I have a 18 1SS with the AFM and get 20 MPG which I think is pretty good for a v8.

Wouldn’t be new . Likely a 16 with about 30k miles for 18-19k . Payments would be about 300 so it will likely be a little cheaper payments as well.

I would get the Turbo 4. It would be a lot more fun than a Honda Accord, and would come close to your mileage goals.

Reg fuel and no lead foot makes the V6 a smart buy. Also storied engine vs. the new T4, Added bennie, cheaper insurance. I get 23 mpg in touring mode, about 20 in sport mode.

Honda accord now is a hot mess up front with the sea of black plastic. My son has a 2017 Civic and over the doors has dents from guys leaning on the car, super thin sheet 'metal'.

Combined with the fact you can use regular octane (which in some states, including here in Texas costs over $0.50 less than premium) .. there's a pretty significant difference. turbo 4 still needs premium. |

youd probably save a decent amount during the course of a year.im sure the guys talking about the 6 being "no fun" are spending a lot more on tires, gas, and court costs when they get caught than they care to admit.

I had a 17 V6 touring I bought new late last year as an attempt to get out of wasting money on mods and bigh insurance etc. That lasted about 3 months and I sold it lmfao. The car was amazing tbh and had every bell and whistle you could ask for and more. With my lead foot I averaged 25 city/highway and 32 highway with cruise on 80. If it weren't for my lead foot and odd personality I'd be in it right now and wouldn't miss a fun car. Tbh it's not much slower (if any) than a V6 camaro (stock).

Are you still paying notes on your current Camaro? If so, how much longer will you be paying? Will you be "resetting" your payments? In other words, if your current Camaro will be paid of in the next year or two, you'll be saving money by not have a note on a newer LT (V6) model. Just something to consider.
