just curious has anyone looked into a ZL1 front bumper swap.. i know there is a few out there

Looking into it I am waiting on Ofer @ Gen5DYI to complete the kit to see if I want to move in that direction or keep my SS as is. So far I am leaning at keeping it as is and only adding the the SEMA Grille and the front splitter. But we shall see what happens right now I I have only put 200 miles on my car since I took delivery so not sure I want to spend the $$ since the car will only come out 1-2 times a month.

Look up @project_zle (i think that's how it's spelled) on IG he did a full ZL1 conversion. It is doable!

1-2 times a month?!?! Why buy it if you are never gonna drive it?!?!

It's gonna be pricey!!! But if you want to go for the ZL1 look right now the way he did it is the only real way to do it, and that is all OEM parts, so if you are on a fairly strict budget I recommend waiting until some aftermarket kits come out. By my estimate that build probably cost him $5-7k without including the LT4 kit that he has coming to add. Initially I wanted to do the same (just no LT4) but decided it just wouldn't be worth it.

Why not it does not hurt my pocket book I have owned at least 1 Camaro at any given time in the past 25 years (my 1st a 92 Z/28) 3 at one time, normally 2 at a time, I love the Camaro, I do car shows, and cruise in's but I also have 4 kids so I make sure my kids and wife get 90% of my time and the other 10% is my time.

yeah i saw ProjectZLE's car and it looks amazing.. but i believe he is the only one who has did one.. im not looking to replace everything. i just want the front bumper. so the 1LE hood and all will stay.. and yes its got to be GM parts only. i get 15% on all parts so i dont mind. my 5th gen was the 2nd person to do a 14 front end swap.. it didnt cost me too much since i sold the ZL1 bumper with lights and everything which cover for most of the cost.

Unfortunately you won't be able to fit the OEM ZL1 front fascia alone, as the fenders and hood are different dimensions from the SS/LTs. I mean you might be able to do it with some extra body work to make it fit but idk. There's always aftermarket if you really want the ZL1 look.

Yep saw that one last night, he did basically the same as ZLE, fascia, hood, fenders and rockers. But like I said there is no way to do just the fascia, without going aftermarket.
