Michelin PS4 to replace Stock Goodyear's BUT....

After doing extensive homework and for my driving characteristics I will going with the Michelin PS4 tires to replace my stock Goodyears. It appears I can and should actually get for the front size wise one size up after looking at the specs.

295/30/20 (PS4) instead of the 285/30/20 (GY stock for front). See below the specs.

Do I have this right guys? I am keeping the stock size for rears at 305/30/20

I'd love to hear from real life users who did what i am thinking about and or confirm I am on the right track.

I put the PS4Ss on a couple months ago and went with the stock sizes. Works perfect. I don't think you need to go 295...I'd be more concerned with keeping the overall diameter the same as stock. Michelin's do have a slightly smaller contact patch vs some of the competitors. But once on the car you can't tell the difference.

I hear ya BUT the stock GY's overall Diam is 26.8 and PS4's are 27 if I went with the 295/30/20 size. Is .3 really going to change the way the car drives?

The main reason I am wanting to go with this size as well is the contact patch or Tread Width. I'd rather take the 10.3 vs 9.9.

I will have to remember this comparison. I read a post before in which someone was talking about the Michelins were smaller, compared to the Goodyear of the same size. More tread on the pavement is always a good thing....IMHO.

I put some on the car last week. I went with the 285 up front. Best price I found was discount tire direct. I think I paid $1512 and they have a $50 visa plus 1 year free finance. Also the $70 Michelin instant rebate.

Stock sizes on mine for 3 months. I wouldn't mess with it.

I too wanted to do 295 in the front, but I also wanted 315 out back. Last summer PS4s didn't have a 315 so I stuck with stock sizes. I have had track days and autocross as well as it's a daily driver with no issues. I had the 295/315 PSS on my 5th Gen ZL1, but wanted to try these new versions.

Stock sizes on my ZL1 for over a year. The PS4S are a great street tire. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed sticking with the stock sizes.

Just my opinion, but the section width is the same on both the Michelin and Goodyear 285. The tread width is different due to the design I’d imagine.

I’d really only consider doing it if the plan was a 295/315 combo. I really don’t know what the threshold is on this car, but with all the elaborate systems we have that use wheel speed inputs (E-diff, PTM, launch control), I’d want to keep the front to rear height ratio as close to stock as possible.

I have 295/305 with my Bridgestone RE980AS’s if that matters, works perfectly fine. No reason not to go a pinch wider when you can.
