Distant cousins?

At SEMA last week I saw a poster that said, "Under every Corvette lies a Ferrari."

I read it and assumed that the reference was to their racing pedigree or a snarky shot at the Corvette...BUT, then I came across these photos.

IDK if tracing paper was used, but maybe the same #2 pencil ;-)

The Viper not as much, but the Ferraris are dead ringers. Thoughts?

I can see it. I think what happens is once a car reaches a certain performance point, it will become similar to other cars of the same performance point due to aerodynamic considerations. Air flows best around certain shapes and to be competitive these days, aero plays a huge roll, resulting in cars with similar overall shapes. The differences come with the details, and some like Corvette and Ferrari manage the details very well. Viper and others, not so much.

This is also why airliners all look basically the same.

Just look at the average compact car on the road. They all look alike.
