Thumbs up Abdo Feghali sets Longest Vehicle Drift world record with Red Bull Camaro

On 15 February, renowned Lebanese Red Bull Athlete and rally champion Abdo Feghali broke the Guinness World Records for the Longest Vehicle Drift – with a distance spanning more than 11,180 metres at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi.

The record covers the longest distance travelled while continuously drifting a vehicle. Feghali earned the much-coveted Guinness World Records certificate by doubling his previous record of 5.8 kilometres – using a Red Bull Chevrolet Camaro SS. The distance was measured from the exact moment when the vehicle started to drift until it came to a full stop.

Indeed, the Red Bull Athlete – and multi-champion – drifted his road-racing-inspired Camaro SS for 14.18 minutes, completing 43 laps in a 260-metre course. As per Guinness World Records regulations, Feghali’s milestone victory was witnessed by qualified experts, including eight-time Lebanese motor racing champion Billy Karam and the representative of Guinness World Records Talal Omar.

Throughout his adrenaline-fueled performance, Feghali demonstrated incredible shifting control and managed to perfectly manoeuver his vehicle, relying on extraordinary skills. Feghali’s record success can also be attributed to the Camaro SS’ gearing, suspension tuning and all-aluminum 6.2L V8 engine – boasting 430 horsepower and 570Nm of torque.

“Feghali’s drifting talent exceeded all of our expectations and we are truly honored that he used the pioneering Camaro SS model to make world history,” said Ahmed Soudodi, regional brand manager of Chevrolet. “The Red Bull Athlete’s impressive Guinness World Record feat serves a real testament to the vehicle’s remarkable performance and agility. We are extremely proud to have collaborated with Feghali for this revolutionary achievement and look forward to spearheading similar groundbreaking initiatives in the future.”

“It was a great challenge for me, as I always wanted to attempt breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest drift on a vehicle, “ admits Feghali. “I was confident of my success, however in moments like these, you cannot but feel the pressure and responsibility. In the end, my determination “drove” me to break the long awaited Guinness World Record and get this exclusive certificate.”

We need a "This thread is worthless without video" smilie

I wonder what kind of tires you have to use to prevent having a tire blow apart a few kilometers in...

i wish i was there to go to the event , it turns out the driver went on track trying to break the record on a stock ZL1 but the ref didn't like the drift and he cancelled it so he tried on an SS with just an exhuast and it all went perfect but he could only do 11 KM and not the 22.2 KM he was goinn for ,but who cares he did it and broke the record by almost twice the distance and that's freakinn awesome

Here's a video of him drifting in the same Camaro, not at the same event though.

This is another video from inside the ****pit. This was on the same day of the event
.

Also, am I the only who thinks this deserves to be on the front page?
