"Torque Tube Problem" Fixed, BUT...

I never did make it to the dealer about the metallic thump.

I found the culprit, a small screwdriver I kept in the car by the driver's seat to remove the aeroplate when I got to shows. It would seem that during some spirited driving, it had slid underneath the seat and was bouncing off the railing.

I also found some new sounds yesterday after a car show.

I keep the car buttoned up at shows except for the hood. Too many people running around with cigarettes hanging out of their mouths and sticking their heads into cars.

Anyway, it was quite warm and the interior of the car was baking to be sure. We started to drive away after the show and every corner and bump caused the dash to pop and squeak. Once the A/C cooled everthing off, it was fine.

I guess, from now on, I'll be leaving the car open at shows, but standing next to it with a baseball bat.
