And that's just the cars that haven't been on a train yet. There are also overflow lots at the other ends of the rail trips, where cars wait for trucking to the dealer. And those overflow lots are not first in first out. If you get stuck in the back of one, you're screwed.

Cool video. I used to work at the plant in the Powertrain building from 1994-1997 with EDS. The lot I parked my new Beretta to stay away from everybody is where they built the Camaro assembly plant.

4300 not promising as many posted ..another black hole. Just sad cars paid for/committed sitting months on end out in the open with elements to do their thing. Guess GM paint is durable

Screw this. I'm ordering a Challenger. I need a car soon and with all this crap, it might be November before I see my Camaro.

My sales manager (screw sales people) said that the Baltimore redistribution center which handles a lot of cars for the mid Atlantic region is in total chaos. If the train is offloaded a bit more locally I will only wait 2-3 days to be trucked the last mile. If it goes to Baltimore, it may be several weeks.

Hard not to be a pessimist when all of this shit is going down.

They should really have a local pickup option for dealers to just send a transport. We're paying for it anyway, so we might as well have the option of choosing our form of transport on our schedule. Obviously, this centralized system is a failure (like many forms of centralized control). I can see the benefit of rail for really long distances, but within a 10 hour drive it should be possible to do a dedicated transport.
