I run TT3 in Texas mainly for the fun of it and they are some of the most experience and best drivers in Texas. Its dominated by lightweight M3 race cars using Hoosiers or slicks. I have basic aero and other mods but haven't gone coil overs yet, which would be the next step. With coil overs and A7s I might be able to make 3rd place. Don't have the budget for that currently. I tried using Hankook Z214s recently and was 3 seconds from 3rd place on a 2 minute track.
Running TT2 is an option and would allow you to add power and run slicks, but still need supporting mods. Their was a 1LE that took 3rd place last year at NASA nationals in TT2, he had a ton of mods.

Almost sounds like it’s better to just run DE4. Plus you could still insure the car and not have all the crazy rules.
In NASA SE they’ve combined DE3 and DE4 for forever. Bumping up from DE2 is quite the bump. Most don’t stay in DE3 for very long, there just isn’t any point with the drills and extra classes. |
