Can anyone tell me??

Hey, doing timing job ONCE AGAIN.
Just did the timing about 6k miles ago.

I have 2 concerns?
Can a clogged catalytic converter cause timing chain problems?
I had P0430 when timing first went out.. never replaced Cat.
Car still has P0430 as I never got around to changing the cat.
& yes, I due believe the cat is bad. Just seeing if that may be the root to the timing issue.

Also, I inspected a part that’s broken under the valve cover.
I have no clue what the part is called for me to replace it.

See picture below.
Need to replace due to cracking.

That would be a cam bearing cap very similar to a main cap for the crankshaft if I’m looking at it right.

You didn't say the model year of your car but the 2010 and 2011 v6's had numerous timing chain issues.

And no, a bad cat shouldn't have anything to do with the timing chain.

Huh.
Well that sure would cause a timing problem.

Bad cats can lead to catastrophic engine failures btw.

My advice' take your car to a mechanic who's a specialist in high performance engines, it's worth the extra money just for the diagnostics it's self, they will give ya feedback and put you on a path were your not constantly dropping money into your car.
Sidenote: post the test value on your cats, because anywhere between 100 and 195 is absolutely gonna have no impact on your engine.

Is there such a thing as a good cat? Asking for a friend.

Generally, you can point one end of the cat at the sun and if you can see daylight, it should be good. They are designed to work for the life of the car unless you send massive amounts of fuel at them, and then they melt.

My response was intended to be sarcastic. I can't tell if the op is trolling or not.

1) if serious, do as Nenous said and seek professional help
2) otherwise, well played
