This 2-year Father-son project started with a car that had been sitting in a driveway in Orange County for the better part of 10 years. This car has only been on the road again as of September 2010, so all parts replaced are approximately 6 months old …

Body / Paint - This car had some small rust spots in areas typical for a GM A-body … which were all cut-out and repaired. There was no major body damage anywhere on the car, and nothing was found to indicate that this car was ever in a major collision. I have pictures of the car when we first bought it and also going through the paint & bodywork stages, which are available upon request. We added a new 2-1/2” steel cowl-induction hood with new hood hinges. Both bumpers were straightened and rechromed, and all over trim was cleaned up as best as possible. We installed a new windshield, new window felts and new door and trunk rubbers. The paint is silver metallic over gloss black, separated by a thin red pinstripe.

Mechanical - The engine is a 350 bored .030 to 355 inches. It has flat-top pistons and uses “882” heads with 1.94/1.5 valves. It has a mild hydraulic cam with an Edelbrock intake and carb (rebuilt). The ignition is a factory HEI. It has new headers into dual exhaust that goes over the differential and exits out the side behind the wheels with 2-chamber Flowmasters. The trans is a rebuilt Turbo 350. The rear-end is a stock 10-bolt with stock gears (believed to be 3.08). It has a new aluminum radiator, new fan shroud, 7-blade steel clutch fan and 160 thermostat, so it runs nice and cool. It has new motor mounts, new transmission mount, and new U-joints.
The brakes have been converted to power disc/drum with 2” drop spindles and all brake components front and rear are also new. The car also has power steering. This car is also originally an A/C car … I used an aftermarket firewall cover to remove the suitcase from under the hood, but all A/C equipment is present and accounted for under the dash (including the control panel). All wiring has been “cleaned up” so that everything works properly. The car also has a new fuel-tank sending unit.

We have installed a new CD stereo with remote in the glovebox, so as to not butcher the original dash and bezel (still in good shape). There are also two new 6x9 speakers in the rear deck.

The only thing left to complete the car is to recondition the interior. It is still wearing its original greenish-gold colored fabric and will need to be redone to suit the rest of the vehicle. The car is a bench-seat with column-shift.

Mom has "suggested" that our son needs a newer vehicle with air bags and more safety equipment, so the Chevelle must go.

Car is located in Long Beach, CA. We have a clean CA title and are selling for what we have into it …. $12,000 FIRM
